It varies. I like to try new things. As part of my job, I was recently transcribing the diary of the farmworker in the 1800’s and came across a reference to something called ‘switchel’ that thirsty hay-cutters drank as a meal in the field in the heat of harvest time. I found several different recipes, most of which used vinegar and molasses, but varied as to the added ingredients. Often, they’d add thickeners like oatmeal to make it more of a meal-replacement type thing. It was the original energy drink! Anyhow, long story short, I am currently fixated on switchel and trying different recipes.
