Do you know the trick to getting long spaghetti squash strands?

Strands run crosswise so you must cut crosswise, not lengthwise, as is often instructed.

Method 1

Cut squash into rings. Using a sharp knife cut the squash crosswise into rings 1-1/2" wide in thickness. Season with oil and salt and pepper and roast in the oven. Separate strands with fork.

Method 2

Cut squash into halves. Cut the spaghetti squash crosswise into halves. Remove the seeds, season with salt and pepper and oil and roast in the oven. Separate strands with fork.

Method 3

Bake spaghetti squash whole. Skip the cutting (at least until after roasting) and bake the squash whole in the oven. When roasted, cut in half, and remove seeds. Separate strands using a fork.
