Simple Tongue Appetizer Recipe

  • 2 t pastured butter
  • 1 cooked beef tongue sliced
  • 1/2 red onion sliced into half-circles
  • 1 T fresh dill chopped
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • pinch of coarse <a href="" target="_blank">celtic sea salt</a>


  1. Brown beef slices in butter on <a href="" target="_blank">cast iron</a> on medium-high heat. Flip after 1 minute of cooking time or when golden-brown and cook on the other side.
  2. Take the slices off the pan and arrange on plate.
  3. Top with sliced red onions and chopped fresh dill.
  4. Season with <a href="" target="_blank">sea salt</a> and squeeze lemon juice.
  5. Enjoy immediately or wait for the flavors to mingle. Either way it's a delicious treat.
