Perfect Regular Rice (not soaked) in the Pressure Cooker
Long grain white rice cooked perfectly in the Instant Pot
Servings 6 servings
- 2 tablespoons butter, ghee, or coconut oil
- 2 cups organic white long grain rice
- 2 cups liquid (bone broth and/or water)
Rinse the rice very well until water runs clear. Shake the strainer back and forth to remove excess water.
In the liner, melt butter or your choice of fat. Add the rinsed rice and stir to coat all the grains with the fat. When rice is starting to turn golden, add liquid (bone broth/water) and stir very well removing any stuch rice on teh bottom or the sides of the pot.
Close the lid and turn the valve to "Sealing." Press the "Manual" function and set cooking time for 8 minutes.
Allow to naturally release pressure ("NPR") for 10 minutes then quick pressure release. When safety pin is down, carefully open the lid and fluff with a fork. Remove from heat by turning "off" the keep warm setting.
