If a recipe uses noodles, I prefer to use Jovial brown rice pasta - it's the best gluten-free pasta on the market for its excellent quality.
    3. Incorporate nutrient-dense foods. Try to cook your grains in broth as much as you can. Chicken broth, beef bone broth, and meat stock are all rich in collagen and minerals.     4. Avoid excess starches and fillers. Be mindful of starchy fillers and additives in storebought items labeled as gluten free. Even though it's convenient, relying on processed products may not align with your dietary goals. Check those ingredient labels!
    5. Make healthy swaps when possible. Even tater tots can be drenched in rancid vegetable oil and coated in potato starch - easily swap that with roasted potatoes or homemade frozen hash browns.

    Freezing & Meal Prep: This Pyrex baking dish set with lids is convenient to have on hand to pop a batch in the freezer or bless a friend with a meal. If using aluminum pans for food delivery, be sure to line them with parchment paper to prevent any leaching.

    Storage supplies: Have any leftovers? Store them in glass snap containers or the Pyrex dish if it has a lid.

    Storage and Reheating Instructions

    To store: Storing casseroles is very easy. I like to transfer any leftover casserole into a smaller airtight container and place it in the fridge. It's best to consult the storage instructions in the individual recipes but generally, most leftover casserole foods will last up to 4 days in the fridge.

    Storage containers: These glass snap containers are perfect for leftovers.

    To reheat: You can quickly reheat in the microwave, but we don't own a microwave and don't recommend using that as your main source to reheat foods. The best way is to let the leftover casserole come to room temperature first. Even though this step is optional, it helps to reheat evenly. Then cover it with aluminum foil and pop it in a toaster/air fryer for a few minutes until heated through.

    Can I substitute gluten-free flour for regular flour in casseroles?

    Generally, yes, you can use gluten-free flour in most casseroles if they have a 1:1 blend. That means for every one part of regular wheat flour you can use one part of gluten-free flour.

    Are there good gluten-free alternatives for pasta in casseroles?

    Absolutely! You'll find lots of great choices in your local grocery store. Jovial brown rice pasta is an excellent option but there is quinoa pasta, chickpea pasta, and even buckwheat pasta. You can also use spiralized zucchini or spaghetti squash for a refreshing gluten-free twist.

    What can I add to gluten-free casseroles to increase protein?

    Include meats like ground beef, roast chicken, shrimp, or salmon for a protein boost. An easy way to boost protein is to add Greek yogurt or cottage cheese to your gluten-free casseroles.
